On our NCL Bliss Alaskan Vacation, June 16-22, 2018 We took three excursions. First we boarded a float plane in Ketchican that flew us to the Historic George inlet Lodge for an all you can eat crabfeast. In Juneau, a helicopter took us to the Mendenhal Glacier for dogsledding. And from Skagway we boarded the Scenic White Pass Railway in vintage rail cars. There we took a 40 mile trip the retraced the original route to White Pass Summit passing Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point & Dead Horse Gulch.

MONTEGO BAY - OCHO RIOS, JAMAICA EXCURSIONS - SEPT. 2017
On our first excursion, we went to Ocho Rios Mystic Mountain, in the Jamaican rainforest, from Montego Bay. On this outing we rode the Sky Explorer chair lift up through the forest canopy at 700 feet above sea level for spectacular views of Ocho Rios, the surrounding rainforest, and the Caribbean Sea. Once we reached the top of the mountain we ziplined through the forest canopy on 7 zip lines. The final adventure at Mystic Mountain was their signature attraction, the Bobsled ride. Custom-designed bobsleds evoking the glory of the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team that travels along stainless steel rails on a 1,000 meter gravity driven ride through the forest. It was a bobsled roller coaster through a tropical forest. The second excursion was a snorkeling trip in Montego Bay.
Marathon - Key West, Florida - June, 2016
In Marathon we rented a beachfront condo at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort for a few days before heading to Key West and booking a room at the historic Key Lime Inn.
Carolinas Vacation - 2015
Vacationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a couple of days. We attended the Pirates Voyage Dinner Show, hung out at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and rode beachfront Ferris Wheel. The second part of our trip was in The Outer Banks, North Carolina, where we met up with are friends from Ohio, The Gapens, for a few days. We headed over to Kitty Hawk, toured The Wright Brothers National Memorial. While in Kitty Hawk, Mimi experienced hang gliding.
WHITE WATER RAFTING - JARABACOA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUGUST, 2014
After a 30 minute drive from our resort in Puerto Plata, we arrived in the town of Jarabacoa. After a brief training session we hopped on a raft to enjoy the cool waters of the Yaque del Norte River, the longest in the Caribbean. With a professional guide, we made our way through the canyons and rapids enjoying the breathtaking views and feeling the adrenaline rush.
HORSEBACK AND ZIP LINE ADVENTURE - PUERTO PLATA,
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUGUST, 2014
After a brief drive from our resort, our horseback riding-zip line tour began. We headed to the riding stables, hopped on a horse, and our adventure began. We followed our guide through the Puerto Plata jungle for a 30-minute horseback ride which gave us the opportunity to discover the beauty of Puerto Plata. We then headed to the zipline course, where we were given a brief overview and safety instructions. We were then ready to glide through the treetops! With 10 total lines, there was plenty to see as we ziplined through the beautiful jungle canopy. We also got to explore the jungle on foot as we followed the guide on a nature walk, where we got an up-close look at the magnificent scenery, wildlife and native plants.
CAYO ARENA - PARADISE ISLAND, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUGUST 2014
This hidden gem was recently named #34 out of the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world by CNN Travel. It is 20 minute boat ride from Punta Rusia Beach, which is an hour and a half drive from our Puerto Plata resort. It is the tiny island of “Cayo Arena” also known as “Paradise Island” . We spent the day taking in the sun, snorkeling and enjoying the company of a variety of beautiful and colorful tropical fish by the reef. This tour also included an amazing boat ride through the mangroves of the area. This place can be truly be described as a Caribbean paradise. After spending a good part of the day here, we were treated to a fabulous lunch. It was undoubtedly a day in paradise we will never forget.
OCEAN WORLD ADVENTURE PARK, MARINA AND CASINO - CONFRESI, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC- AUGUST, 2014
Upon arriving at the Ocean World Adventure Park, Marina & Casino, we had dinner overlooking the marina and ocean. After dinner we the were taken to our VIP seats to enjoy the spectacular Bravissimo cabaret show. The show combined a Las Vegas style dance show, consisting of 30 dancers and 120 costumes, with the Caribbean rhythms of the islands.
CITY TOUR - PUERTO PLATA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - AUGUST, 2014
The half-day Puerto Plata city tour and cable car ride was a fun way to learn about the history and culture of Puerto Plata. This comprehensive city tour took us to a variety of landmarks. We were picked up from our resort by our private guide. Our first stop was the Brugal Rum Factory, where we watched the rum being bottled and packaged. The second stop was the Dominican Amber Museum, which houses a unique collection of valuable Dominican amber. On to the San Felipe Fort, one of the oldest buildings still standing in Puerto Plata. There is a small museum at the fort, where they displayed wartime artifacts, guns, cannon balls, etc.. Our next stop was a tour of Isabel de Torres Mountain. We rode a cable car up to the top of the mountain where there is a massive statue of Christ on top of a building that was formerly a church, botanical gardens and spectacular views of the city below. Before heading back to the resort, we drove through the downtown area, stopping at a family owned combination cigar factory and jewelry design store along the way.

There were lots of restaurants providing plenty of food, and enough bars available to keep you from being thirsty. So eating, drinking, gambling and just relaxing was the order of the day. However, The Eastern Caribbean ports of call were the setting for some adventurous excursions. There was helmet diving in St. Maarten, parasailing in St. Thomas, and just hanging in Nassau.
LAS VEGAS NEVADA - JANUARY 2012
Celebrated my 60th birthday in Las Vegas. We stayed at the Wynn Hotel and Casino and attended three fabulous shows. Mimi's gift to was front row VIP seats to Cirque Du Soleil, Viva Elvis! at the Aria Hotel And Casino. We also went to the Gospel Brunch at The House Of Blues in The Mandalay Bay Hotel And Casino. And the Luxor Hotel, where we were entertained by comedian Carrot Top.
ANTIGUA RAINFOREST CANOPY TOUR CATAMARAN CRUISE
AUGUST 2011
Our first journey was for zip lining on the Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tour. There we experienced a total of 12 exciting zip lines set up throughout the rainforest at various heights, lengths and speeds including ‘The Screamer’ which is 325 ft across and 300 ft high, connecting to the unforgettable ‘Leap of Faith’ and then onto the magical twin tree houses hidden away from the rest of the world.
The second adventure was a Catamaran Cruise that circumnavigated the entire Antigua island.
DISCOVERY COVE - ORLANDO, FLORIDA - APRIL 2011
The highlight of the visit to Discovery Cove was the opportunity to swim with a bottle nose dolphin during a 30-minute interactive adventure. Accompanied by a trainer, we wade into shallow water and became acquainted with the dolphin through hugs, kisses and rubdowns. Then, taking the adventure one step further, we interacted with the dolphin in deeper water for an exciting dorsal fin tow ride back to shore.
SMOKY MOUNTAIN, TENNESSEE VACATION - OCTOBER 2007
We rented a cabin for a week in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for our vacation. While there we took a road trip to Asheville, North Carolina and toured the Biltmore Mansion, home to the Vanderbilts. We also spent the day in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In Gatlionburg we rode the Aerial Tram to The Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park. While in Pigeon Forge, aside from chilling in the cabin, we went to Memories Legends Show, Black Bear Jamboree for a dinner show, and lastly the famed Dollywood .
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE - MAY 2006
In Memphis we stayed at The Heartbreak Hotel which was actually at the end of Lonely Street. While there we took the VIP tour of Graceland. Visited the legendary Sun Studios where Elvis and may others were discovered. While in town we experienced famed Beale Street, rode on street cars and cruised the Mississippi River on an Authentic Memphis River Boat.
THE 1988 SUMMER OLYMPICS, SEOUL SOUTH KOREA AND HONG KONG SEPTEMBER 17-25 1988
Went to the 1988 Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, South, Korea. Olympic Events attended were swimming, diving, gymnastics, boxing, and baseball.
THE KLEMENCIC FAMILY VACATION AND CAMPING OUTINGS 1976-1979
Over the course of four years or so the family went on vacations to the following locations: Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; Clearwater Beach, Florida and Naples, Florida.
Favorite camping locations were:

Orlando and Naples, Florida Vacation - 1975
Vacationed at Walt Disney World, Orlando and took a trip to Naples, Florida to visit our friends Dennis and Diane Stalzer.
